Serena is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian who holds a Bachelor of Nutrition Bioscience and Master of Nutrition and Dietetics from Edith Cowan University.
Pursuing a career as a dietitian was driven by her passion for empowering others with the evidence-based knowledge on dietetics and nutrition and resources needed to optimise own health and wellbeing. Serena enjoys working collaboratively with people from all walks of life to find innovative ways to reach their nutrition goals.
Having lived with type 1 diabetes for 22 years, Serena understands first hand the vital role food can play in enhancing health and quality of life when living with a chronic illness. She also believes that any dietary changes should be enjoyable and sustainable long term, recognising that there are many approaches that work when it comes to optimising health through nutrition.
Serena’s areas of interest include diabetes (Type 1 diabetes, Type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes), heart health, mental health, vegetarian/vegan diets, and healthy ageing.
Outside of being a dietitian at PDC Health Hub, Serena enjoys sewing, live music and trying out new restaurants with friends.
